Jay Doyle (Niakwa Country Club) has a three stroke lead on clubmate Todd Fanning and Mike Walker (St. Boniface Golf Club) following the opening round of the Hodson Financial Men’s Senior Championship at Breezy Bend Country Club.
Doyle started the day with three straight birdies on his way to a 4-under par 68.
Fanning and Walker were the only other two players under par at 1-under 71. David Kuik (Niakwa) sits fourth on the leaderboard at even par 72.
Walker also leads both the the Super Senior Division by three strokes over Garth Collings (Breezy Bend) and the Net Stableford Division by one point over Doyle and Bill Zeweniuk (St. Boniface).

Cathy Derewianchuk (Glendale Golf & Country Club) shot a 5-over par 78 to hold a one stroke lead on Tammy GIbson (Niakwa) and two stroke advantage on Angela Ause (Golf Manitoba Public Players Club) and Angela Martens (Elmhurst Golf & Country Club) in the Senior Women’s Championship.
Derewianchuk also leads the Net Stableford Division with 37 points, one point more than Jennifer Finch (Breezy Bend).
At 6-over par 79, Gibson leads the Super Senior Division by four strokes over Finch (Breezy Bend).
