Top seed Ngo & 14 year old Wood advance in Manitoba Match Play Men’s Championship

Low qualifier and number one seed Noel Ngo of Pine Ridge Golf Club earned a 4&2 victory over Jeremy Kehler of Quarry Oaks Golf Course in his opening match of Men’s Division play in the Manitoba Match Play Championship at Grand Pines Golf Course. The win now pits Ngo against #16 Nicholas Welch of Niakwa Country Club on Tuesday.

The top eight seeds following Sunday’s qualifier also won their opening matches.

Another match drawing a lot of attention was 14 year old Payne Wood of St. Boniface Golf Club beating Trent Robertson of Niakwa on the 18th hole. Wood is the youngest competitor in this year’s field.
