Golf Manitoba is pleased to announce its 2025 Championship Schedule.
As the Provincial Sport Organization and governing body of golf in Manitoba and Northwest Ontario, Golf Manitoba conducts premier amateur golf championships to support the development of the province’s competitive golfers at Golf Manitoba member clubs.
The 2025 championship season begins May 24th at Winkler Golf & Country Club with the Manitoba Match Play Qualifier presented by St. Vital Dental Centre and concludes with the Men’s Senior Four-Ball Championship September 4th at the Pinawa Golf & Country Club.
“We are excited to officially announce our 2025 Championship Schedule” said Director of Competition and Rules David Borowski. “2024 once again showed a record number of golfers enjoying our sport at both the recreational and competitive levels. With the courses we have set to host our 2025 championships, there will be a lot of excitement. I would like to thank our member clubs for working these championships into their very busy calendars.”
Early registration will open from April 1st to April 15th for select players and based on their finish in 2024 Golf Manitoba Championships. These players will receive an email informing them of their status.
General registration will open on April 16th.

2025 Golf Manitoba Championship Season Calendar at a glance:
For the sixth time is course history, Elmhurst Golf & Country Club will host the championship matches from May 29th to June 1st. The last time it was played at Elmhurst was 2016 when Tom Humniski of the host club won his second consecutive Men’s Senior Championship.
Carman Golf & Curling Club will host the All Abilities Championship, Women’s City & District Championship and U15 Championship presented by the Alex & Peggy Colonello Foundation June 7th and 8th.
The Diamond Athletic Men’s Mid-Amateur and Women’s Amateur Qualifier will be contested at Transcona Golf Club June 20th. The 54 hole Championship will be played at St. Charles Country Club July 2nd to 4th where Addison Kartusch looks to defend her 2024 Women’s Amateur Championship at her home course.
The Junior Boys & Girls Championship presented by the Alex & Peggy Colonello Foundation will be played July 7th to 9th at Quarry Oaks Golf Course.
The Men’s Four-Ball Championship is scheduled for August 28th at Wheat City Golf Course in Brandon.
The Men’s Senior Four-Ball Championship on September 4th at Pinawa Golf & Country Club concludes our championship summer of competition.
Manitoba Amateur Championships
Golf Manitoba annually conducts provincial golf competitions and qualifiers – which play host to more than 900 golfers who play over 1,700 rounds.

Hammerback, Hayden, Lafleche and St. Laurent earn 2024 All Abilities, Women’s City & District and U15 Championships at John Blumberg Golf Course

Kristian Hammerback (Southwood Golf & Country Club) shot a final round 9-over par 79 at John Blumberg Golf Course to edge Calgary’s Kyle Miller claiming the All Abilities Championship Saturday night. Hammerback’s one stroke lead following Friday’s opening round was the difference as he and Miller had the identical scores in round two.
Hammerback also finished first in the Net Stableford Division with 67 points, three better than Shane Dyck (Pine Ridge Golf Club).
Ryder St. Laurent (Team Manitoba / Niakwa Country Club) with a two day total of 12 over par 156 (73-83) earned a five stroke victory over Owen Conrad (Team Manitoba / St. Charles Country Club) to win the Junior Boys U15 Championship presented by the Alex & Peggy Colonello Foundation.
Jewel Lafleche (Niakwa Country Club) won the Junior Girls U15 crown with a 166 total (79-87), 12 strokes better than Maisy Shewchuk (Team Manitoba / Golf Manitoba Public Players Club).

For the fourth time in her career, Charmaine Hayden (Breezy Bend Country Club) is the Women’s City & District Champion. Hayden birdied the 2nd and 10th holes during her final round to secure a one stroke victory over Hannah Diamond (St. Charles Country Club).

Ryder Stlaurent (Team Manitoba / Niakwa Country Club) has a four stroke lead entering the final round of the Junior Boys U15 Championship presented by the Alex & Peggy Colonello Foundation Saturday afternoon at John Blumberg Golf Course. Stlaurent’s 1-over par 73 featured two birdies, 13 pars and three bogeys. Hunter Oakden (Team Manitoba / Glendale Golf Club) and Owen Conrad (Team Manitoba / St. Charles Country Club) are tied for second place at 5-over par 77.
Jewel Lafleche (Niakwa Country Club) is up by 11 strokes in the Junior Girls Championship following a 6-over par 79 on Maisy Shewchuk (Team Manitoba / Golf Manitoba Public Players Club).
Grant Secord (St. Charles Country Club) has a six stroke lead on Ty Montour (Scotswood Links) in the 12 & Under Junior Boys Division.
Shewchuk leads the 12 & Under Junior Girls Division by 13 strokes over Sadie Blazeiko (Team Manitoba / Pine Ridge Golf Club)
Hannah Diamond (St. Charles Country Club) has a one stroke lead on three time champion Charmaine Hayden (Breezy Bend Country Club) for the Women’s City & District Championship. Diamond is at 6-over par 78, while Hayden opened with a 79.

Kristian Hammerback (Southwood Golf & Country Club) and Kyle Miller of Calgary are separated by a single stroke in the Gross Division of the All Abilities Championship. Hammerback made back to back birdies on the eighth and ninth holes carding a 7-over par 77 while Miller shot a 78.
In the Net Stableford Division, Shane Dyck (Pine Ridge Golf Club) is in first place with 37 points, two up on Hammerback.

42 competitors will be at John Blumberg Golf Course on Friday and Saturday contesting in three provincial championships.
26 players will be in the U15 Championship presented by the Alex & Peggy Colonello Foundation. Maisy Shewchuk (Team Manitoba / Golf Manitoba Public Players Club) returns to defend her Girls championship. Ryder Stlaurent (Team Manitoba / Niakwa Country Club) is also taking part after winning the 12 & under Boys championship last year.

Early registration for all 2024 Golf Manitoba championships opens Monday, April 1, 2024 at 12am CST. Golf Manitoba is entering its fourth season using Golf Genius for its Tournament Management Software including all registrations. Early registration is for competitors based on their past results.
General registration for all interested competitors will open on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 12am CST.
To be eligible to compete in Golf Manitoba competitions, players must be an active Golf Manitoba/Canada member through a member club or the Golf Manitoba Public Player Program, and must also hold an up-to-date Golf Canada Handicap Index visible on the Golf Canada Score Centre at the time of registration.

The championship registration process is easier, less time consuming and accessible through Golf Canada’s Score Centre. To enter all Golf Manitoba events, you must first log into your Golf Canada Score Centre profile using a web browser, please note that you will not be able to log-in through the Golf Canada app.

In addition to Golf Manitoba’s annual events, we are pleased to celebrate our athletes August 11th to 14th who will take part in the Manitoba Summer Games in Dauphin.
2024 Golf Manitoba Championship Season Calendar at a glance:
Breezy Bend Country Club will then host the championship matches from May 27 to June 2. It will be the fifth time in course history they host the event. Looking back in the record books, Breezy Bend members Jesse Skelton (2011), Garth Collings (1996) and Bill Parker (1981) previously won the Men’s Championship on their home course.
The John Blumberg Golf Course will host the All Abilities Championship, Women’s City & District Championship and U15 Championship presented by the Alex & Peggy Colonello Foundation June 14th and 15th.
For the first time in course history the Diamond Athletic Men’s Mid-Amateur and Women’s Amateur Championship will be played at the Neepawa Golf & Country Club July 4th to 6th. Jeri Lafleche of Clear Lake Golf Course will be vying for her third consecutive Women’s Amateur championship.
The Junior Boys & Girls Championship presented by the Alex & Peggy Colonello Foundation will be played July 10th to 12th at Niakwa Country Club. The last time this event was held at Niakwa, Stony Mountain’s Aaron Cockerill won the Junior Boys Championship in 2010.
Rossmere Country Club will host the Nott Autocorp Men’s Amateur Championship July 22nd to 24th. Breezy Bend’s Braxton Kuntz will be looking to become the first player in Manitoba history to win four consecutive Men’s Amateur championships.
The busy month of July comes to an end at Selkirk Golf & Country Club from the 29th to 31st as they host the Hodson Financial Men’s & Women’s Senior Championship. Rhonda Orr of Southwood Golf & Country Club is vying for her ninth straight and 11th Senior Women’s Championship.
The popular two person four-ball championships close our summer of competition with the Women playing August 8th at Portage Golf Club, the Men’s Senior event at Shilo Country Club September 5th followed by the Men’s championship two weeks later at Grand Pines Golf Club on September 19th.

Addison Kartusch (Team Manitoba / St. Charles Country Club) shot a final round of 3-over par 75 to earn a two stroke victory over India Young (Team Manitoba / Carman Golf & Curling Club) claiming her first Women’s City & District Championship. Young had an impressive finish to the two day event carding a 1-over par 73 Tuesday at the Selkirk Golf & Country Club.
Gavin Carver (Glendale Golf & Country Club) won the Overall Junior Men’s division of the U15 Championship presented by the Alex & Peggy Colonello Foundation. Carver (76-79-155) earned a four stroke decision over Ty Brewster (Golf Manitoba Public Players Club Member) (77-82-159).
Maisy Shewchuk (Team Manitoba / Golf Manitoba) claimed the Overall Junior Women’s division and the 12 & Under Junior Women division with a 36 hole total of 179 (85-94).
Ryder St. Laurent (Golf Manitoba) won the 12 & Under Junior Men’s division playing from the forward tees shooting a two day total 151 (73-78).

Three players are within four strokes after the opening round of the Women’s City & District Championship at the Selkirk Golf & Country Club.
Addison Kartusch (Team Manitoba / St. Charles Country Club) went 4-under during her final four holes to shoot a 1-over par 73. That stretch included birdies on the 15th and 16th holes along with an eagle on 18.
Kartusch has a three stroke lead on Charmaine Hayden (Breezy Bend Country Club) who carded a 76. India Young (Team Manitoba / Carman Golf & Curling Club) opened with a 77.

Brady Comaskey (Pine Ridge Golf Club), who shot a 3-over par 74, has a two stroke lead on Hudson Hunnie (Team Manitoba / Golf Manitoba) and Gavin Carver (Glendale Golf & Country Club) in the junior boys division of the U15 Championship presented by the Alex & Peggy Colonello Foundation.
Ryder St. Laurent (Golf Manitoba) shot a 73, to lead the 12 and under junior boys division by five strokes over Owen Conrad (Team Manitoba / St. Charles).
Maisy Shewchuk (Team Manitoba / Golf Manitoba) leads the overall junior girls division after carding an 85.

Korman, Blair & Hammerback win at La Broquerie Golf

Cala Korman, a Golf Manitoba Public Players Club member, shot a 4 over par 76 in her final round to win the Women’s City & District Championship Sunday at La Broquerie Golf.
Korman (77-76-153) finished 3 strokes better than Niakwa Country Club’s Jill Hardy (80-76-156).
Kyla Lederer of The Country Club won the Forward Tee Division at 189 (98-91).

Adam Blair of Pinawa Golf Club won the Junior Men’s Division by 5 strokes over Pine Ridge Golf Club’s Brayden Boge. Blair finished play at 158 (80-78).
Zach Lederer of The Country Club won the 12 and Under Division at 149 (74-75).
In the 13 & 14 Division, Hudson Hunnie, a Golf Manitoba Public Players Club member at 163 (81-82) finished 6 strokes better than fellow Golf Manitoba member Ty Brewster.
Jewel Lafleche of Clear Lake Golf Course won the Junior Women’s Division with a 190 (89-101) total.

Golf Manitoba Public Players Club member Kristian Hammerback earned a 9 stroke victory in the Gross Division of the All Abilities Championship.
Hammerback’s two day total was 156 (76-80). Craig Dowling of British Columbia finished at 165 (82-83).
Hammerback also won the Net Stableford Division with 80 points. ParaGolf Ontario’s Rod Reimer placed second with 66 points.
In the Special Olympics Division, Patrick Cloutier registered the low score of 48, 7 strokes better than Brett Hoogervorst. Both golfers play out of Special Tee Golf.
