Inside Golf Manitoba Men's Four-Ball Championship

PREVIEW | Wheat City Golf Course to host Taylor McCaffrey Men’s Four-Ball Championship

34 two man teams tee off Thursday morning at Brandon’s Wheat City Golf Course in the Taylor McCaffrey Men’s Four-Ball Championship.

Back to defend their title is the 2024 championship team of Kenny Keeler and Carson Inman of Portage Golf Club.

New for this year’s event is a both a Net & Gross Division where teams chose which division they would like to compete in at registration.

Net Division:

  • The form of play where sides of two partners compete, with each player playing his ball.
  • A side’s score for the hole is based on the Stableford Scoring System.
    • A player’s or side’s score for a hole is based on points awarded by comparing the player’s or side’s number of strokes (including strokes made and penalty strokes) on the hole to a fixed target score for the hole.
  • Each team is responsible for recording their gross score on a hole on a single scorecard. The system will calculate the net scores at the scoring table.
  • Maximum handicap per player is 20.0 at time of draw
  • We will also take 85% of the handicaps as recommended by Golf Canada as an allowance in a Four-Ball Stableford Competition.

2025 Golf Manitoba Four-Ball Championship Registration is NOW OPEN!

Registration for all Golf Manitoba Four-Ball Championships is now open. Golf Manitoba is pleased to welcome Taylor McCaffrey Lawyers as the title sponsor of this year’s four-ball competitions.

Four-ball is a form of play where sides of two partners compete, with each player playing his/her own ball. A side’s score for a hole is the lower gross score of the two partners on that hole. The partner with the lower score on each hole provides that team’s score for that hole.

NEW for 2025, Golf Manitoba introduces a Net Division for both the Men’s and Men’s Senior Four-Ball Championships. Scoring will be calculated using 85% of the players course handicap and the Stableford scoring system.

The 2025 Taylor McCaffrey Women’s Four-Ball Championship is scheduled for August 5th at River Oaks Golf Course, the Taylor McCaffrey Men’s Four-Ball Championship will be contested August 28th at Wheat City Golf Course followed by the Taylor McCaffrey Men’s Senior Four-Ball Championship on September 4th at Pinawa Golf & Country Club.
