Located just five minutes west of Brandon along Highway #1, this 30,000 square foot facility features 20 outdoor hitting bays with individual ball dispensing featuring the availability to aim at 8 various targets which automatically keeps track of your score using Top Tracer technology. All outdoor hitting bays have a gas powered 23 foot radius heating system along with 40 outdoor televisions.

Giordani-Gross opens 2024 Maple Leaf Junior Tour season with victory at Kildonan Park

Zostrianos Giordani-Gross of Shilo Country Club shot a 1-under par 68 in his final round at Kildonan Park Golf Course Sunday to finish at even par 138 over two days of competition to win the Maple Leaf Junior Tour’s adidas Golf Series.

It was the first of nine tournaments on the Manitoba schedule.

Giordani-Gross finished first in the Junior Boys division by five strokes over Hayden Delaloye of Neepawa Golf & Country Club.

Welcome River Oaks Golf Course

Golf Manitoba, in association with Golf Canada, is pleased to welcome River Oaks Golf Course as our newest member club.

Located 10 minutes south of Winnipeg’s South Perimeter off Waverley Street, this 18 hole course can be played from three sets of tee boxes ranging from 4,993 to 5,837 yards.

“Our course has continued to develop over the past number of years and we are really excited to share it with everyone” said General Manager Caitlyn Jones. “We have added a water hazard between the fifth and eighth holes to enhance the playing experience for golfers on the front nine and you will also see a new patio at the clubhouse upon entry.”

River Oaks Golf Course also features a putting green and a full service restaurant for all guests to enjoy.

As an official Golf Manitoba / Canada member club, all rounds played at River Oaks Golf Course are acceptable for handicap purposes and may be recorded toward establishing or maintaining an official Golf Canada Handicap Index.

Registration for Golf Manitoba championships is now open.

To be eligible to compete in all Golf Manitoba competitions, players must be an active Golf Manitoba/Canada member and must also hold a current Golf Canada Handicap Index.

The championship registration process is easier, less time consuming and accessible through Golf Canada’s Score Centre.

To enter all Golf Manitoba events, you must first log into your Golf Canada Score Centre profile using a web browser and select the competitions tab found under the user menu on the top right-hand side of the web page.

Please note that personal Golf Genius accounts that are active at the club level will not permit you to register for any Golf Manitoba Championship. 

Reminder, entry deadlines for most events will close 14 days prior to the start of the championship.

2024 Diamond Athletic Men’s Mid-Amateur & Women’s Amateur moves to Minnedosa Golf & Country Club

Golf Manitoba Director of Competitions & Rules David Borowski announced today the 2024 Diamond Athletic Men’s Mid-Amateur & Women’s Amateur will be held July 4th to 6th at the Minnedosa Golf & Country Club.

“This will be the first major championship our course has the privilege of hosting in over a decade” said Minnedosa General Manager & PGA of Canada Head Golf Professional Patrick Law. “Led by Superintendent Dan Bailey, I know our course will be in terrific condition and a true test to all of the competitors. The town of Minnedosa and surrounding area will benefit from having everyone here that week.”

The 54 hole championship was scheduled to be hosted at the Neepawa Golf & Country Club however due to a delay in irrigation renovations this decision was made.

“While it is disappointing not to host this year’s championship, we believe it is best for everyone involved” said Neepawa General Manager & PGA of Canada Head Golf Professional Landon Cameron. “We look forward to having the province’s best return to Neepawa in the near future for exciting competition like we saw in 2021 during the Nott Autocorp Men’s Amateur won by Braxton Kuntz on the 18th hole of the final round.”

“I would like to thank Landon and Patrick for their quick action in this situation” said Borowski. “When Landon reached out to say it was best to focus on another year to host, Patrick immediately opened his doors to us. We look forward to returning to Neepawa in the future.”

The Minnedosa Golf & Country Club recently hosted the 2022 Men’s Senior Four-Ball Championship and 2016 Nott Autocorp Men’s Amateur Qualifier.

Golf Manitoba opens indoor Performance Training Centre

Golf Manitoba announced today the official opening of a state-of-the-art indoor golf performance centre located in the Sport Manitoba building, 145 Pacific Avenue in Winnipeg. The Golf Manitoba Performance Centre features two golf simulators powered by Foresight Sports and a 160-square foot putting green to provide training and coaching opportunities that will assist in growing its player development program.

“The opening of this indoor training facility moves the needle for our player development program,” said Golf Manitoba Executive Director Jared Ladobruk. “We recognized a unique opportunity to add efficiencies and improvements by integrating both golf specific and athlete training in one central location. In addition to that, the Foresight technology provides our coaches with new options and more flexibility that will allow them to assess and train our athletes 12 months of the year.”

In addition to golf specific training, Team Manitoba athletes will continue to access strength and conditioning and nutrition services provided by Sport Manitoba Performance and mental performance services by Attollo Mental Health & Performance.

“With the addition of this high-performance training centre, Golf Manitoba has taken an important step toward helping our association achieve its strategic player development goals,” added Golf Manitoba President Sue Wright-Cassan. “We are now better aligned and equipped to contribute to Golf Canada’s enhanced national player development program that was announced in February of 2022.”

“Sport Manitoba is thrilled to house this new indoor golf training centre,” said Janet McMahon, President & CEO of Sport Manitoba. “The goal of our facility has always been to provide athletic and recreation opportunities to Manitobans, and with this addition, Golf Manitoba will be able to further enhance player development throughout all four seasons.”

The Golf Manitoba Performance Centre was made possible by funding and support from the 2017 Canada Summer Games Legacy Fund, Sport Manitoba, the Alex & Peggy Colonello Foundation, and a private donation from Don & Sandi Janzen.

Golf Manitoba names 2024 Team Manitoba roster

Golf Manitoba Executive Director Jared Ladobruk is pleased to announce 24 Junior Boys and 15 Junior Girls have been named to the 2024 Team Manitoba roster.

These junior golfers will train and compete in various tournaments throughout the season representing our province under the guidance of Team Manitoba Boys Head Coach Sean Murray and Team Manitoba Girls Head Coach Bri-ann Tokariwski.

The Junior Boys Gold Team roster features Carson Inman of Breezy Bend Country Club and Portage Golf Club, Jackson Delaurier of Dauphin Lake Golf Club, Kaleb Lambert of Elmhurst Golf & Country Club, Gavin Carver and Hunter Oakden of Glendale Golf & Country Club, Pine Ridge Golf Club members Adam Blair and Liam Comaskey, Brayden Boge of Rossmere Country Club, Payne Wood of St. Boniface Golf Club, St. Charles Country Club members Grady Chuback and Owen Conrad, Spence Mott of Shilo Golf & Country Club, Southwood Golf & Country Club’s Terence Rafferty, Ty Brewster of the Steinbach Fly-In Golf Club and Golf Manitoba Public Players Club members Hudson Hunnie and Ryder St. Laurent.

“We are super excited to announce our teams who are filled with exceptional players” said Boys Head Coach Sean Murray. “After being away at college, we expect Grady and Kaleb to bring that experience and lead by example on and off the course for our younger players. Terrence, Payne, Jackson, Carson and Brayden return to the team after having terrific seasons last year looking to continue that momentum they created. Hudson and Adam return for their second year after being the younger guys on the team, we have seen them continue to grow and get stronger which will create exciting opportunities for them. Then, we added Ty, Gavin, Liam, Hunter, Ryder, and Owen who had seasons last year that could not be rewarded. We hope joining the team will help them gain experience and have that support system that will help them continue to climb the ladder.”

The Junior Girls will be divided into two teams:

The Gold Team roster features Keira Krahn and India Young of the Carman Golf & Curling Club, Glendale Golf & Country Club member Payton Oakden, Gracie McMillan of Pine Ridge Golf Club and Golf Manitoba Public Players Club member Crystal Zamzow.

The Black Team roster includes Elmhurst’s Angelina Sitarz, Erin Nowicki of Pine Ridge along with Golf Manitoba Public Players Club members Sadie Blazeiko, Emily Devlin and Maisy Shewchuk.

“I am excited to work with this hungry and enthusiastic gorup of girls this season” said Girls Head Coach Bri-ann Tokariwski. “The girls are already working hard in workouts and practices to be ready for the upcoming season. We have also added to our program some of the best in sports psychology and nutrition professionals in Manitoba to assist our athletes.”

Looking into the future, eight Junior Boys and five Junior Girls have been recognized for their potential and named to Team Manitoba’s Blue practice squad rosters.

The boys roster includes Brady Comaskey (Pine Ridge), Xavier Delaquis (Golf Manitoba Public Player), Colton Drul (Elmhurst), Hunter MacLean (Carman), Aris Mercury (Glendale), Ryder Pufahl (Rossmere), Grant Secord (Golf Manitoba Public Player) and Austin Tutkaluk (Golf Manitoba Public Player).

Honing their skills for the future girls are Jordyn Chetyrbok (Golf Manitoba Public Player), Annika Gording (Elmhurst), Leah Klippenstein (Golf Manitoba Public Player), Kate McMillan (Pine Ridge) and Mikaila Pador (Golf Manitoba Public Player).

“As an association, we are excited to see the future of golf continuing to grow” said Golf Manitoba Executive Director Jared Ladobruk. “We are thrilled to see a number of Manitobans who have moved on to play competitive golf at the college and professional levels. With commitment and dedication from our 2024 Team Manitoba members we hope they too can one day achieve their goals as well”. 

Team Manitoba will once again benefit greatly from the generosity of the Alex and Peggy Colonello Foundation while also receiving support from the Integrated Support Team at Sport Manitoba Performance that will help enhance the athletes’ skills through fitness, nutrition, and development of the mental side of the game.

Nott Autocorp Men’s Amateur champion to compete in 2024 CentrePort Canada Rail Park Manitoba Open

Golf Manitoba, in association with the CentrePort Canada Rail Park Manitoba Open, are pleased to announce the 2024 champion of the Nott Autocorp Men’s Amateur will earn an exemption into the PGA Tour Americas event this summer.

The CentrePort Canada Rail Park Manitoba Open is scheduled for August 22nd to 25th at Southwood Golf & Country Club.

2022 and 2023 Nott Autocorp Men’s Amateur champion Braxton Kuntz of Breezy Bend Country Club has competed in the last two Manitoba Open championships.

It was also announced earlier this week Winnipeg Jets defenceman Dylan Samberg will take part as an exemption following in the footsteps of Morgan Barron, Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele.

Manitoba Golf Hall of Fame announces Class of 2022 & 2023

WINNIPEG, MB – The Manitoba Golf Hall of Fame and Museum is pleased to announce the Class of 2022 & 2023. Hugh Allan and Gavin Speirs (Class of 2022) and Darcy Furber, Dave McMillan and Adam Speirs (Class of 2023) will be inducted as honoured members in the spring of 2024.

Of special note for the induction ceremony of 2024, it will the first time in the Manitoba Golf Hall of Fame’s 20-year history that a father and son (Gavin Speirs and Adam Speirs) will be inducted as honoured members.
