Golf Manitoba, in association with St. Charles Country Club, is pleased to announce the 2026 Diamond Athletic Women’s Amateur Championship will be held Sunday, July 5th and Monday, July 6th.

“Due to the unfortunate circumstances at Gilbert Plains Country Club this week, we were forced to pivot and are grateful to the members of St. Charles for their support in hosting the event” said Golf Manitoba Executive Director Jared Ladobruk. “With the Canadian Women’s Championship starting July 21st, it was imperative to play our Women’s Amateur as soon as possible.”

Details on the Diamond Athletic Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship will be announced when they are finalized.

Golf Manitoba is pleased to announce a Net Stableford Division has been added to the 2026 Hodson Financial Men’s & Women’s Senior Championships.

This year’s event will be held at Breezy Bend Country Club from Monday, July 27th to Wednesday, July 29th.

As in years past, both championships are 54-holes of stroke play using Gross scores.

A Net Stableford Division has been introduced to provide an additional competitive opportunity for all players in the championship field. Competitors will automatically be entered into the Net Stableford competition while still competing in the Overall Gross Championship.

The Net Stableford Division will run concurrently with the championship. Net Stableford is a scoring system that awards points based on how well you play a hole after your handicap is applied. 95% of each player’s Course Handicap will be applied.

Below are the Stableford points breakdown:

0 points: Net Double Bogey (or higher)
1 point: Net Bogey
2 points: Net Par
3 points: Net Birdie
4 points: Net Eagle
5 points: Net 3-under-par
6 points: Net 4-under par

Stableford points will accumulate over the 54 holes of the championship.

The Men’s Senior Championship will feature a maximum of 66 players while the Women’s Senior Championship will feature a maximum of 24 players.

Due to severe rainfall, widespread overland flooding and the forecast for additional significant precipitation, Golf Manitoba made the decision to cancel the 2026 Diamond Athletic Men’s Mid-Amateur and Women’s Amateur Championship at Gilbert Plains Country Club scheduled for Wednesday, July 1st to Friday, July 3rd.

Several roads between Neepawa and Gilbert Plains have been impacted by flooding, and the Rural Municipality of Gilbert Plains has declared a State of Emergency. After carefully considering the safety of our players, volunteers, and staff, we have determined that cancellation is the only responsible course of action.

Information regarding next steps, including any decisions and potential rescheduling of the championships, will be communicated as soon as they are finalized.

We would also like to thank the staff, board directors, and volunteers at Gilbert Plains Country Club for their dedication and hard work in preparing the course to host these provincial championships. 

Tyson Ehnes (Lorette Golf Course) shot a 3-under par 68 Sunday at Elmhurst Golf & Country Club to win the Men’s Division of the Elmhurst Invitational.

Ehnes’ round featured four birdies, 13 pars and one bogey, good for a one stroke victory over Ryan Blair (Elmhurst).

Adam Blair (Team Manitoba / Elmhurst) earned a three victory over Ryder St. Laurent (Team Manitoba / Niakwa Country Club) to win the Junior Boys Division while Angelina Sitarz (Team Manitoba / Elmhurst) edged Camryn Thomas (Team Manitoba / St. Charles Country Club) by a single stroke in the Junior Girls Division.

Patrick Perrin (Elmhurst Golf & Country Club) recorded nine birdies Friday at Steinbach Fly-In Golf Club to finish in first place on the Nott Autocorp Men’s Amateur Championship Qualifier leaderboard.

Perrin’s 5-under par 66 was three stroke better than Elmhurst clubmates Jordy Lutz and Adam Ingram along with Jack Moro (Whitewater Golf Club).

Michael Tanchak (Niakwa Country Club) and Brayden Hamm (Team Manitoba / Wheat City Golf Course) rounded out the top five at 1-over par 72.

102 competitors will start teeing off at 8:30 Friday morning at Steinbach Fly-In Golf Club looking to earn a birth into the Nott Autocorp Men’s Amateur Championship.

For this qualifier, the community owned course which was founded in 1954 by the Pilots of the Steinbach Flying Club, is a par 71 playing at 6,430 yards featuring four par 3’s, 11 par 4’s and three par 5’s.

“We are privileged to host this event and hope all competitors enjoy the course and play well” said PGA of Manitoba Head Professional Brian Guenther. “Don’t forget, water comes into play on the 14th and 18th holes!”

The 102 players will be competing for 56 spots in the 54 hole Nott Autocorp Men’s Amateur Championship scheduled for July 13th to 15th at St. Boniface Golf Club.

Championship Sunday at Neepawa Golf & Country Club resulted in high drama with both the Junior Boys and Girls Championships requiring a playoff to decide the NextGen Prairie Championship.

Ryan Mosher of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan won the Junior Boys title with a birdie over British Columbia’s Luke Bernakevitch on the first playoff hole following 54 holes of regulation play at 7-under par 209.

Brayden Boge (Rossmere Country Club) carded a 3-over par 75 to finish as the top Manitoban on the leaderboard tied for 10th place at 5-over par 221.

Serin Girard of British Columbia erased a 10 stroke deficit entering the final round to force a playoff versus second round leader Grace Odnokon of Saskatoon for the Junior Girls crown at 10-over par 226. Girard went on to par the first playoff hole, while Odnokon made bogey.

Camryn Thomas (Team Manitoba / St. Charles Country Club) and Angelina Sitarz (Team Manitoba / Elmhurst Golf & Country Club) both earned a birth to the Canadian Junior Girls Championship by finishing fifth and sixth respectively on the leaderboard. Thomas shot an 81 for a tournament total 20-over par 236 while Sitarz sparkled with a 76 to finish at 23-over par 239.
