Diamond Athletic Men's Mid-Amateur Championship

Registration Re-Opens for 2026 Diamond Athletic Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship

Quarry Oaks Golf Course will host the 2026 Diamond Athletic Men's Mid-Amateur Championship July 21-22, 2026.

WINNIPEG – In the wake of severe flooding that forced the postponement of the 2026 Diamond Athletic Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship at Gilbert Plains Country Club, Golf Manitoba has finalized the rescheduled tournament details

The 54-hole championship will now take place July 21-22, 2026, at the Quarry Oaks Golf Course in Steinbach, Manitoba.

Field Openings & Registration Lottery

Due to the change in dates and venue, several previously registered competitors have had to withdraw leaving approximately 20% of the field vacant. To ensure a robust and competitive field, Golf Manitoba is re-opening registration to all age-eligible golfers to fill the remaining spots, up to a maximum field size of 60 players.

To ensure fairness for all new applicants, a random lottery draft will be conducted from the pool of additional registrations to fill the available spots.

  • Registration Window: Registration will be open from Friday, July 10 at 12:00 PM and will close on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 9:00 AM.

Supporting Gilbert Plains

Our thoughts remain with the community, staff, and leadership at Gilbert Plains Country Club during this incredibly challenging time. In recognition of these unfortunate circumstances, Golf Manitoba will donate a portion of the proceeds from all new registrations to Gilbert Plains Country Club to assist with their recovery efforts.

Diamond Athletic Men’s Mid-Amateur & Women’s Amateur Championships cancelled due to weather

Due to severe rainfall, widespread overland flooding and the forecast for additional significant precipitation, Golf Manitoba made the decision to cancel the 2026 Diamond Athletic Men’s Mid-Amateur and Women’s Amateur Championship at Gilbert Plains Country Club scheduled for Wednesday, July 1st to Friday, July 3rd.

Several roads between Neepawa and Gilbert Plains have been impacted by flooding, and the Rural Municipality of Gilbert Plains has declared a State of Emergency. After carefully considering the safety of our players, volunteers, and staff, we have determined that cancellation is the only responsible course of action.

Information regarding next steps, including any decisions and potential rescheduling of the championships, will be communicated as soon as they are finalized.

We would also like to thank the staff, board directors, and volunteers at Gilbert Plains Country Club for their dedication and hard work in preparing the course to host these provincial championships.
