RESULTS | Kartusch finishes as top Manitoban at Canadian Junior Girls Championship
Addison Kartusch (St. Charles Country Club) shot a 2-over par 74 Saturday in Quebec during the final round of the Canadian Junior Girls Championship.
At 16-over par 304, Kartusch finished at T18 on the leaderboard, 26 strokes back of Ontario’s Shauna Liu who won the championship at 10-under par.
Jeri Lafleche (Niakwa Country Club) completed play T47 with a final round 78, one stroke ahead of her sister Jewel (Niakwa) who carded an 80.

RESULTS | Kartusch & Lafleche sisters lone Manitobans to make the cut at Canadian Junior Boys & Girls Championships
Addison Kartusch (St. Charles Country Club), Jeri Lafleche (Niakwa Country Club) and Jewel Lafleche (Niakwa) are the three Manitobans to make the cut following 36 holes of play at the Club de golf Sainte Marie in Sainte-Marie, Quebec for the Canadian Junior Girls Championship, presented by BDO.
Kartusch is 22nd on the leaderboard following a 1-over par 73 during her second round for a current 9-over par 153 tournament total. Jeri shot a 77 to sit with a 16-over par 160 total which is T43 followed by Jewel’s 81 on Thursday which has her four strokes back of her older sister on the leaderboard.
Payton Oakden (Team Manitoba / Wheat City Golf Club) and Camryn Thomas (Team Manitoba / St. Charles) failed to make the cut.
Team Manitoba (Kartusch, Jeri Lafleche & Oakden) finished fourth in the 36 hole Inter-Provincial Team Championship at 24-over par, 15 strokes back of first place British Columbia.

In the Inter-Provincial Team Championship, Manitoba (Brewster, Mott and St. Laurent) finished in ninth place.

The top junior female golfers from across North America are set to compete at Club de golf Sainte Marie in Sainte-Marie, Quebec for the Canadian Junior Girls Championship, presented by BDO.
This year’s field features 141 of Canada’s top golfers from the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) are included in the 144-player field along with three international competitors.

Founded in 1962, the Sainte-Marie Golf Club is set in a stunning landscape with mature trees and views of the Beauce Valley; the Sainte-Marie Golf Club offers greens and fairways of unmatched quality. Thanks to the partnership of two visionary businessmen, Mr. Benoît Vachon and Mr. Roland Lacroix, land located on Rang St-Étienne in Sainte-Marie caught their attention due to its proximity, terrain, and vegetation. Together, Mr. Vachon and Mr. Lacroix fully committed to realizing this great dream, investing their time and generously contributing significant financial support. From 1968 to 1969, under the supervision of architect Howard Watson, a series of major works were carried out to expand and improve the original nine-hole course.
The Canadian Junior Girls Championship has a long list of distinguished past champions that have etched their name on the Brokenshire Trophy. Past champions include, Canadian Golf Hall of Famers Sandra Post (1964-66), Betty Stanhope (1956), Judy Darling (1957), Gail Harvey Moore (1958-1960) and Gayle Borthwick (1961). In addition, LPGA Tour players, Alena Sharp (1999), Brooke Henderson (2012) and Maddie Szeryk (2013). Stollery Family Team Canada Women’s Head Coach Salimah Mussani (1996) is also a past Canadian Junior Champion.
The 2025 Canadian Junior Girls champion will receive an exemption into the 2026 Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship and the 2026 Canadian Junior Girls Championship and 2026 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship, if eligible.

Kartusch finishes T3 at Canadian Junior Girls Championship
Addison Kartusch (Team Manitoba / St. Charles Country Club) will go into the Golf Canada record books tying for third place at the Canadian Junior Girls Championship in Vancouver.
Carding a final round 4-over par 76, Kartusch finishes the four day event at 3-over par 291.

Addison Kartusch (Team Manitoba / St. Charles Country Club) shot a 2-under par 70 during her third round at the Canadian Junior Girls Championship in Vancouver.
With a 1-under par 215 total, Kartusch is in a four way tie for first place on the leaderboard entering Thursday’s final round.

Team Manitoba (Addison Kartusch, Jeri Lafleche & Cala Korman) combined for a second place finish in the Inter Provincial Team Championship at the Canadian Junior Girls Championship in Vancouver.
Over 36 holes, the trio were 9-over par, just eight strokes back of British Columbia.
Individually, Addison Kartusch (Team Manitoba / St. Charles Country Club) is T4 on the leaderboard entering the third round at 1-over par 145 (71-74), four strokes behind leader Shauna Liu of Ontario.

Nine Manitobans set to tee off at Canadian Junior Girls Championship
The top junior golfers from across North America will compete at Marine Drive Golf Club in Vancouver B.C. from July 22-25 in the 69th playing of the Canadian Junior Girls Championship presented by BDO.

Team Canada NextGen member, Eileen Park of Red Deer, Alta., comes in as the defending champion, having won last year’s championship by seven shots over Luna Lu of Burnaby, B.C. After an opening round 74, the 15-year-old Albertan carded rounds of 74, 71, 69 and 67 for a total score of 3-under 281, enroute to the national title.
In total, 147 of Canada’s top golfers from the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) are included in the 152 – player field along with five international competitors.
The Championship was first contested in 1955 and operated by the former Canadian Ladies Association (CLGA) until the amalgamation of CLGA and Royal Canadian Golf Association (now Golf Canada) in 2005.
The Canadian Junior Girls Championship has a long list of distinguished past champions that have etched their name on the Brokenshire Trophy. An inter-provincial team competition will take place over the first two rounds. Each day, the lowest two of three individuals 18-hole scores will count towards the team total. The lowest aggregate score over rounds one and two determines the inter-provincial team champions, who will claim the Mary Pyke Trophy.
The 2024 Canadian Junior Girls champion will receive an exemption into the 2024 Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship and 2025 U.S. Girls Junior Championship, if eligible. In addition, the winner will receive $1,200 CAD.
Korman, Kartusch and Lafleche conclude play at the Canadian Junior Girls Championship
Cala Korman (Team Manitoba / Golf Manitoba Public Players Club) finished play at the Canadian Junior Girls Championship in New Brunswick as our province’s top performer.
Korman (pictured) carded her second consecutive five over par 76 during her final round to finish at 307.
Addison Kartusch (Team Manitoba / St. Charles Country Club) shot a 77 to wrap up play at 310 while Jeri Lafleche (Clear Lake Golf Course) ended with a 79 and 313 total.

RESULTS | Round 3 at the Canadian Junior Girls Championship
Cala Korman (Team Manitoba / Golf Manitoba Public Players Club) is Manitoba’s top representative on the leaderboard heading into the final round of the Canadian Junior Girls Championship in New Brunswick.
Korman carded a five over par 76 during her third round, and with a 231 total, is tied for 35th place overall.
Addison Kartusch (Team Manitoba / St. Charles Country Club) (pictured) shot an 84 to drop to 42nd while Jeri Lafleche (Clear Lake Golf Course) is 44th after a 77.
