Six Manitobans make the cut at Canadian Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship

Delwyn Doerksen (Oakview Golf & Country Club) shot even par 72 to move up 22 spots on the leaderboard during his second round at the Canadian Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship in New Brunswick.

With a 146 two day total (74-72), Doerksen is Manitoba’s top player, seven strokes off the lead.

Also making the cut advancing to the final 36 holes of competition at Algonquin Golf Resort are Curtis Markusson (St. Charles Country Club), Adam Guenther (Elmhurst Golf & Country Club), Drew Jones (Shilo Country Club), Lyle Mackenzie (Niakwa Country Club) and Tyler Hall (Pine Ridge Golf Club).

In the Inter-Provincial Team Championship, Manitoba (Jones, Doerksen, Markusson) finished sixth overall at +5, 293, nine stroke back of first place Ontario.

Markusson’s 1-over par 73 today also moved him into a tie for 7th place in the Mid-Masters Championship, eight strokes off the lead.
