Spence Mott (Team Manitoba / Shilo Country Club) & Addison Kartusch (St. Charles Country Club) are the Junior Boys & Girls Champions presented by the Alex & Peggy Colonello Foundation at Quarry Oaks Golf Course.
Mott shot a final round of 3-over par 75 to finish the 54 hole event at 2-under par 214, six strokes better than Ty Brewster (Team Manitoba / Quarry Oaks) who shot a 76. Payne Wood (Team Manitoba / St. Boniface Golf Club), Ryder St. Laurent (Team Manitoba / Niakwa Country Club) and Terence Rafferty (Southwood Golf & Country Club) all finished in a tie for third place at 6-over par 222. St. Laurent prevailed in a three hole playoff to secure a spot along with Mott and Wood to represent Manitoba at the Canadian Junior Boys Championship.

For the second consecutive season and third time in the last four years, Kartusch claimed the Junior Girls title with a six stroke decision over Jeri Lafleche (Niakwa). Kartusch carded a bogey free 4-under par 68 to finish the championship at even par 216. Lafleche and Payton Oakden (Team Manitoba / Wheat City Golf Course) both shot a final round 81 to finish second and third respectively. All three ladies will represent Manitoba at the Canadian Junior Girls Championship.
It’s the second year in a row Kartusch made Manitoba golf history by winning the Match Play Championship presented by St. Vital Dental Centre, the Diamond Athletic Women’s Amateur Championship and Junior Girls crown.

This championship was also the final qualifier for players to compete and represent Manitoba at the Canada Summer Games in Newfoundland and Labrador August 19-22.
