Cole Peters (Niakwa Country Club) led the University of Manitoba Bisons Men’s Golf Team with a 6-over par 78 in the opening round of the Battle of the Bear Tournament on the Bear Course at The Okanagan Golf Club in Kelowna.
Peters’ round included three birdies, eight pars, six bogeys and a double bogey.

Jacob Armstrong (St. Boniface Golf Club) of the University of Fraser Valley had an impressive start with six birdies on his way to an even par 72.
Lucas O’Dell, also of UFV, is atop of the leaderboard at 5-under par 67.
The Bisons are currently seventh in the Team competition at +33. Armstrong’s UFV are in first place at -4.
