Manitoba Third after Opening Round of Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship

Cala Korman of Killarney Lakeside Golf Course is the low Manitoban after round one of the 111th Canadian Women's Amateur Championship

Team Manitoba sits in third place after the opening round of the Inter-Provincial Team Championship being played at 111th Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship in Rothesay, New Brunswick. Cala Korman of the Killarney Lakeside Golf Course was the low Manitoban in the team competition shooting a 5-over par score of 77. Clara Peake of the Minnedosa Golf & Country Club contributed with an 8-over par round of 80. Addison Kartusch of the St. Charles Country Club rounded out the team scoring with an 84.

Team Manitoba sits at +13 and eights shots back of 2nd place Team Ontario and ten shots back of 1st place Team British Columbia. The team event will conclude following tomorrow’s second round.

In the stroke play portion of the championship, Macy Pate of Winston Salem, MC, United States, opened with a 4-under par score of 68. Clara Ding from Whiterock, B.C., is in a tie for 2nd place. Niakwa Country Club’s Jeri Lafleche and Jewel Lafleche were also in the field shooting scores of 85 and 95 respectively.
