It may have taken a couple of extra days due to a weather delay, but Saturday at Breezy Bend Country Club is a day Braxton Kuntz will remember forever.
Following a remarkable amateur career, Kuntz made his professional debut in front of friends and family at the course he’s grown up on carding a 2-over par 73 in the opening round of the PGA Tour Americas Manitoba Open.
2025 Nott Autocorp Men’s Amateur Champion Evan Nachtigall of Shilo Country Club made six birdies during his Manitoba Open debut en route to a 5-over par 76.
Despite carding a 96, Winnipeg Jets goaltender Eric Comrie was a fan favourite interacting with fans throughout the day signing autographs and posing for pictures.
Riley Lewis of Arizona birdied the first four holes he played on his way to an 8-under par 63 and sits atop of the leaderboard. Fellow Americans Jake Stalano and Joel Thelen are tied for second place, one stroke back.
