Golf Manitoba is mourning the passing of past-president and long-time volunteer, Sydney (Syd) Cohan, who passed away at the age of 89 on November 7, 2020 after a brief struggle with illness.
Mr. Cohan was President of the Manitoba Golf Association from 1996 to 1997 and was a founding member of the Manitoba Golf Hall of Fame and Museum Inc. He also volunteered for many years as a Rules Referee in addition to serving as the non-playing captain of the Manitoba Willingdon Cup team that competed at the 1997 Canadian Men’s Amateur Championships. Mr. Cohan was a longtime member of Glendale Golf and Country Club in Winnipeg, MB.
