Golf Manitoba Remembers Past President David Morison

Golf Manitoba is saddened to learn of the passing of former Executive Director and Past President David Morison, FCA, who passed away on August 18, 2026. A dedicated leader, accomplished chartered accountant, and avid Rules Referee, David spent decades enriching the sport at the club, provincial, and regional levels.

David’s leadership in Manitoba golf was extensive and varied. He served as President of Breezy Bend Country Club from 1984 to 1986 before stepping into provincial governance as President of Golf Manitoba (then the Manitoba Golf Association) from 1993 to 1994. He later brought his executive background to the organization as Executive Director, guiding Golf Manitoba with professionalism and strategic vision. Even after relocating to New Brunswick in 2005, David’s passion for golf governance and volunteering never waned, as he continued serving as a rules referee and club volunteer, eventually earning Golf New Brunswick’s Volunteer of the Year award in 2019.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in Bathurst, New Brunswick. To read David’s full obituary and learn more about his distinguished career and life of service, please visit his official tribute page at Elhatton’s Funeral Home.
