Wayne Giesbrecht is the 2021 Championship Flight winner at the annual Carman Men’s Open at the Carman Golf and Curling Club.
Giesbrecht shot a final round 72 to finish two strokes better than Austin Wiebe, Brook McGillvray and Colton Harder. Bobby McNair rounded out the top five in the Championship Flight shooting a 76.
Bruce North won the 1st Flight carding a 70, one stroke better than Mike Hetherington.
A count back was needed to decide both the 2nd and 3rd Flights.
Ian Sylvester carded an 88 to win the 2nd Flight.
Clarke Phillipson took the 3rd Flight shooting a 95.
The Members Flight Net Champion is Norm Allen who finished at 64, one stroke better than Ivan Repolles.
The Golf Manitoba Championship season opens Friday at the Transcona Golf Club with the Diamond Athletic Men’s Mid Amateur Qualifier.
Saturday and Sunday it’s the Women’s City and District Championship along with the Bantam Championship presented by the Alex & Peggy Colonello Foundation, also at the Transcona Golf Club.
