Playing in his first senior’s event after capturing five Men’s Amateur titles, Todd Fanning (Niakwa Country Club) has a two stroke lead entering Friday’s final round of the Hodson Financial Men’s Senior Championship at St. Boniface Golf Club.
Fanning, who was four under par after his opening nine holes, went two over the back to sit at three under par, 141 through 36 holes.
Fellow Niakwa member Jay Doyle is second on the Manitoba Blue Cross leaderboard at 143 after a three under par 69, which featured four birdies over his final eight holes.
Mike Walker (St. Boniface) leads the Super Seniors Division by four strokes over Ken Warwick (Niakwa).

Meanwhile, Senior Women’s veteran Rhonda Orr (Southwood Golf & Country Club) is 18 holes away from her eighth consecutive title and 10th overall since 2013.
Orr carded a 82 during her second round for a 159 total, 10-strokes clear of Fran Povoledo (Southwood) who shot an 89.
Orr also leads the Super Seniors Division by 17 strokes over Tammy Gibson (Niawka) and Lisa Benson (St. Charles Country Club).
