Senior Men’s Interclub
64 competitors representing 16 golf courses from across Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario are at the Minnedosa Golf & Country Club today for the Senior Men’s Interclub Championship.
The best three scores from each golf course represented will be combined to decide the 2021 champion.

Last year at Grand Pines Golf Course, individually Ron Bilawka of Pine Ridge had the low round of the day at three under par 69 finishing two strokes better than Mike Walker of St. Boniface.
On a count back, Breezy Bend Country Club won the City Division championship over Pine Ridge Golf Club with both clubs finishing tied atop the standings at 229.
Clear Lake Golf Course won the Rural Division championship by five strokes over the host course.
Parr wins Canadian Junior Boys Championship
Jean-Phillippe Parr of Quebec shot a final round two over par 74 to win the Canadian Junior Boys Championship by a single stroke over Cooper Humphreys of British Columbia and Nova Scotia’s Owen Mullen.
Parr finished the four day event at 10 under par 278.
Jack Taylor of St. Charles Country Club made four birdies, four bogeys and 10 pars for even par 72 in his final round and tied for 23rd place.
Ryan Blair of Pine Ridge Golf Club shot an 83 to conclude play 69th on the leaderboard.

Day 3 at Canadian Junior Boys Championship
Jean-Phillippe Parr of Quebec has a one stroke lead over British Columbia’s Cooper Humphreys and Owen Mullen of Nova Scotia heading into Thursday’s final round of the Canadian Junior Boys Championship.
Parr carded a bogey free six under par 66 in his third round and sits with a 54 hole total of 204.
Jack Taylor of St. Charles Country Club had three birdies on the day and shot 75, which has him tied for 42nd on the leaderboard.
Pine Ridge Golf Club’s Ryan Blair is tied for 50th place after a 76.

Day 2 at the Canadian Junior Boys Championship
Cooper Humphreys of British Columbia has a four stroke lead over first round leader Jean-Phillippe Parr of Quebec through 36 holes at the Canadian Junior Boys Championship.
Humphreys (66-68) sits atop of the leaderboard at 10 under par.
Jack Taylor, a Golf Manitoba Public Players Club member and Ryan Blair of Pine Ridge Golf Club advanced to the third and fourth rounds of play making the cut which was +10.
Both players are nine over par are tied for 54th on the leaderboard, Taylor was 75-78 while Blair went 80-73.

Day 1 at the Canadian Junior Boys Championship
Jean-Phillippe Parr of Quebec shot a seven under par 65 in the opening round of the Canadian Junior Boys Championship at the La Vallee du Richelieu Golf Club northeast of Montreal.
Jack Taylor, a Golf Manitoba Public Players Club member, is the top Manitoban carding a three over par 75, one stroke better than Pine Ridge Golf Club’s Noah Fiks.

Orr & Collings win Hodson Financial Women’s & Men’s Senior Championship
For the sixth consecutive season, Southwood Golf & Country Club’s Rhonda Orr is the Hodson Financial Women’s Senior Champion following a two stroke victory over clubmate Fran Povoledo at the Steinbach Fly-In Golf Club.
Orr shot a 77 in her final round to finish the three day event at 238, while Povoledo carded an 80 and a 240 total.
Nancy Porth of the Niakwa Country Club won the Forward Tee Division at (85-87-87) 259 while Michelle Gisiger of the host club is the Super Senior Champion finishing at (82-81-84) 247.

For the third time in his career, the Hodson Financial Men’s Senior Champion is Garth Collings of Breezy Bend Country Club.
Collings shot even par 72 and finished play at 217, three strokes better than Mike Walker of St. Boniface Golf Club, who also fired a 72 in his final round.
Rene Abgrall, a Golf Manitoba Public Players club member, won the Forward Tee Division at (85-85-84) 254 while Bruce North of the Carman Golf Club is the Super Senior Champion coming in at (76-75-72) 223.

No change atop of the leaderboard at Hodson Financial Women’s & Men’s Senior Championship
74 was magic number for the top four players today in the second round of the Hodson Financial Men’s Senior Championship at the Steinbach Fly-In Golf Club.
Breezy Bend Country Club’s Garth Collings, St. Charles Country Club’s Ken Mould, Ike Bueckert of the host club and Mike Walker of St. Boniface Golf Club were all two over par on the day.
Collings, at 145 through 36 holes, has a one stroke lead over Mould, a two stroke advantage on Bueckert and is three better than Walker.

Southwood Golf & Country Club’s Fran Povoledo and Rhonda Orr, Michelle Gisiger of the host course along with Michelle Miyai of St. Boniface Golf Club all shot 81 in their second round.
Povoledo sits in first place with a two day total 160, followed by Orr just one stroke back, Gisiger is three of the pace while Miyai is at 169.

Sekulic wins Canadian Men’s Amateur, Sholdice top Manitoban
Max Sekulic of Rycroft, Alta., shot a final round five under 66 to win the 116th Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship at Ambassador Golf Club in Windsor, Ont., at 17 under par.
Sekulic, who went birdie-birdie on the final two holes to secure the win, finished two strokes ahead of A.J. Ewart of Coquitlam, B.C., who was at the top of the leaderboard throughout the opening two rounds. National team members Henry Lee (Coquitlam, B.C.) and Brendan MacDougall (Calgary) finished tied for third at 14 under.
Ryan Sholdice of Breezy Bend Country Club made five birdies shooting a two under par 69 and finished as the top Manitoban at 293.
Jack Moro, a Golf Manitoba member from the Whitewater Golf Club in Thunder Bay, Ontario carded a 76 and a 298 total while Marco Trstenjak of Elmhurst Golf & Country Club finished at 299 following a 71 over his final 18 holes.
Collings & Povoledo lead after Round 1 of the Hodson Financial Women’s & Men’s Senior Championship
A bogey free round of one under par 71 has Breezy Bend Country Club’s Garth Collings atop of the leaderboard after the opening round of the Hodson Financial Women’s & Men’s Senior Championship at the Steinbach Fly-In Golf Club.
Collings made 17 pars along with a birdie on the 15th hole to lead Ken Mould of St. Charles Country Club by a single stroke. Mould had two birdies and two bogeys along with 14 pars on his way to a 72. Al Briscoe of the St. Boniface Golf Club and Ike Bueckert of the host club by are two strokes off the lead.

In her first career Senior’s event, Southwood Golf & Country Club’s Fran Povoledo has a one stroke lead over club mate Rhonda Orr in the Women’s Senior championship. Povoledo survived three double bogeys on the front nine by carding a one under par 35 on the back for a seven over par 79.

Noah Steele of Kingston, Ontario shot a six under par 65 in his third round at the Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship in Windsor to give him a one stroke lead over Brendan MacDougall of Calgary heading into Friday’s final round.
Jack Moro, a Golf Manitoba member with the Whitewater Golf Club in Thunder Bay shot a 77 for a 222 total.
Ryan Sholdice of Breezy Bend Country Club is the top Manitoban carding a 79 and sits at 224 for the event.
Marco Trstenjak of the Elmhurst Golf & Country Club shot an 81, for a three day total 228.
