RESULTS | Team Manitoba finishes T3 at Canadian Women’s Mid-Amateur Inter-Provincial Team Championship

Team Manitoba’s Charmaine Hayden (Breezy Bend Country Club), Veronica van der Meer (Breezy Bend) and Rachel Harms (Elmhurst Golf & Country Club) earned a T3 finish Thursday in the Inter-Provincial Team Championship of the Canadian Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, presented by BDO, at Lachute (Club de golf) in Lachute, Quebec.
Hayden shot a 2-over par 73 during her second round while van deer Meer had a 76 and Harms a 94.
Hayden and van deer Meer’s scores contributed to a 36 hole 19-over par finish, tied with Quebec. British Columbia won the Team Championship at 5-over par.
Hayden and van der Meer are both in the top 20 on the Mid-Amateur leaderboard entering Friday’s final round at T8 and T16 respectively.
Hayden is in fifth place on the Mid-Masters leaderboard, eight strokes off the lead.

RESULTS | Hammerback saves best for last at Canadian All Abilities Championship

Kristian Hammerback (Southwood Golf & Country Club) shot a final round of even par 72 Thursday in Kamloops, British Columbia at the Canadian All Abilities Championship, presented by BDO.
With a 16-over par 232 total, Hammerback finished T8 on the gross division leaderboard as Manitoba’s top performer. He also moved up nine spots on the net stableford leaderboard to finish in fifth place.
Matteo Lisoway (Minnedosa Golf & Country Club) also had his best round of the week carding an 81 while Gurmit Sandhu (Golf Manitoba Public Players Club) shot a 93.

RESULTS | Hammerback sits 11th at Canadian All Abilities Championship

Kristian Hammerback (Southwood Golf & Country Club) sits in 11th place on the gross division leaderboard entering Thursday’s final round in Kamloops, British Columbia at the Canadian All Abilities Championship, presented by BDO.
Hammerback shot an 82 during his second round for a 160 two day total.
Matteo Lisoway (Minnedosa Golf & Country Club) had an 89 on Wednesday while Gurmit Sandhu (Golf Manitoba Public Players Club) carded a 102.
In the net stableford division, Hammerback is Manitoba’s top player at T14.

Charmaine Hayden (Breezy Bend Country Club) shot an opening round of 6-over par 79 to sit T12 on the leaderboard in the opening round of the Canadian Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, presented by BDO, at Lachute (Club de golf) in Lachute, Quebec.
Veronica van der Meer (Breezy Bend) is T20 following an 81 while Rachel Harms (Elmhurst Golf & Country Club) carded a 98.
Hayden also sits T7 on the leaderboard in the Mid-Masters Division.
Team Manitoba (Hayden & van der Meer) currently sit in fourth place in the Inter-Provincial Team Championship at 14-over par.

PREVIEW | 3 Manitobans to compete at Canadian Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship

The 2025 Canadian Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, presented by BDO, is underway at Lachute (Club de golf) in Lachute, Quebec.
The field features 58 of the best female amateur talents above the age of 25, with the mid-amateur (players aged 25-and-over as of August 6) and mid-master (players aged 40-and-over as of August 6) competitions both running concurrently through the completion of 54 holes.
Representing Manitoba are Rachel Harms (Elmhurst Golf & Country Club), Charmaine Hayden (Breezy Bend Country Club) and Veronica van der Meer (Breezy Bend).

With over a century’s worth of history and a pair of championship-caliber golf courses nestled in its 500-acre property, Lachute (Club de golf) stands definitively as a premier golf facility in the nation. Founded in 1923, the course’s original 18-hole design was crafted and completed through the work of renowned Canadian architect Stanley Thompson in 1949. A dozen years later and with inspiration from Thompson, Lachute native Howard Watson designed the property’s second course, stretching over 7,000 yards and providing another stout test for golfers of all levels. Watson was inducted to the Quebec Golf Hall of Fame as a builder in 2021.
Lachute (Club de golf) has hosted numerous major golf tournaments throughout its history, including the 1977 Peter Jackson Classic (now known as the CPKC Women’s Open) won by World Golf Hall of Famer Judy Rankin of St. Louis, Mo. In addition to the LPGA TOUR great, the course’s greens have also been graced by the presence of other legends in the game, including Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino and Nick Price among the many to tee off at one of Quebec’s finest golf locations.
RESULTS | Portage, Southwood & Windsor Park win Taylor McCaffery Women’s Four-Ball Championships

Portage Golf Club, Southwood Golf & Country Club and Windsor Park Ladies captured the Taylor McCaffery Women’s Four-Ball Championships Tuesday at River Oaks Golf Course.
Rhonda Orr and Fran Povoledo (Southwood Golf & Country Club) won the “A” Championship Gross Division at 4-over par 77. Payton Chapman (Team Manitoba / Glendale Golf & Country Club) and Angelina Sitarz (Team Manitoba / Elmhurst Golf & Country Club) finished second, four strokes back.
Jen Saunders and Heather Penno (Southwood) finished first in the Net Division at 3-under par 70. Susan Suppes and Susan Swan (Pine Ridge Golf Club) won the silver medal, one stroke back.

Joanne Stimpson and Tracy Gilson (Windsor Park Ladies) won the “B” Championship Gross Division with a combined score of 19-over par 92. Donna Siemens and Kate Loewen (Breezy Bend Country Club) finished in second place, five strokes back.
Paulette Connery and Marcia Friesen (Portage Golf Club) finished first in the Net Division at 2-under par 71. Jacqui Sair and Brenda Prystayko (Pine Ridge) went home with a silver medal, four strokes back.

RESULTS | Hammerback leads Manitoba to open Canadian All Abilities Championship

Kristian Hammerback (Southwood Golf & Country Club) shot an opening round 6-over par 78 at the Dunes in Kamloops, British Columbia at the 2025 Canadian All Abilities Championship, presented by BDO.
Hammerback’s round puts him T13 on the leaderboard in the gross division and T10 in the net stableford division.
The stableford scoring format set points based off a golfer’s net score for the hole. The points will be awarded are: Albatross (5 points), Eagle (4 points), Birdie (3 points), Par (2 points), Bogey (1 point), Double Bogey or higher (0 points).
Also representing Manitoba are Matteo Lisoway (Minnedosa Golf & Country Club) who shot an 86 to sit T24 in the gross division and 31st in net stableford while Gurmit Sandhu (Golf Manitoba Public Players Club) carded a 91, good for 28th in gross and 20th in net.

Taylor McCaffrey Women’s Four-Ball Championships are underway at River Oaks Golf Course

39 two person teams are at River Oaks Golf Course today competing in the Taylor McCaffrey Women’s Four-Ball Championships.
The format for this year’s championships are 18 holes of competition where:
- A side of two partners compete, with each player playing their own ball.
- A side’s score for a hole is the lower gross score of the two partners on that hole.
- The partner with the lower score on each hole provides that team’s score for that hole.
- Each team is responsible for recording their gross score on a hole on a single scorecard
The “A” Championship features 22 teams representing Breezy Bend Country Club, Carman Golf & Curling Club, Elmhurst Golf & Country Club, Glendale Golf & Country Club, Kildonan Ladies Golf, Larters at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club, Niakwa Country Club, Pine Ridge Golf Club, Rossmere Country Club, St. Boniface Golf Club, Selkirk Golf & Country Club, Shilo Country Club, Southwood Golf & Country Club and Transcona Golf Club.

PREVIEW | 3 Manitobans open play at Canadian All Abilities Championship

The 2025 Canadian All Abilities Championship, presented by BDO is underway at The Dunes at Kamloops in Kamloops, B.C.
The fifth playing of the national championship will be contested over 54-holes, today through Thursday, featuring a field of 50 players with neurological, intellectual, sensory, and physical impairments. The tournament was expanded to three rounds last year after the first three editions were comprised of 36-holes.
Representing Manitoba are Kristian Hammerback (Southwood Golf & Country Club), Matteo Lisoway (Minnedosa Golf & Country Club) and Gurmit Sandhu (Golf Manitoba Public Players Club).

There are four different divisions in the Canadian All Abilities Championship that players will compete in, regardless of disability classification: Women’s Gross Stroke Play; Women’s Net Stableford; Men’s Gross Stroke Play and Men’s Net Stableford.
The Dunes was founded in 1996 and has played host to a variety of big events including the CCAA Championship, B.C. Amateur, Western Canadian Summer games and many more. The Dunes is known for its rolling fairways and bountiful dunes mounds lining all fairways. Players will use all clubs in their bag at The Dunes, as well as some very imaginative shot shapes during their round.
“The Dunes at Kamloops is very pleased to be chosen as the host site for the 2025 Canadian All Abilities Championship. The participants are in for a treat as the course is in excellent condition and the forecast looks amazing,” said Bill Bilton, Owner & Head Professional, The Dunes at Kamloops. “Players will be challenged with true U.K. links style fairways, rolling hills and natural fescue. We eagerly await the opening tee shot and making new friends during the event.”
First conducted in 2021 at Humber Valley Golf Course in Toronto, Ont., the competition supports Golf Canada’s commitment to create a more inclusive and respectful sport environment across the Canadian golf community.
