Rossmere Country Club’s Rob Oliphant, the #1 seed in the Senior Men’s Round of 16, earned a 6&5 victory over Curtis Rey of Bridges Golf Course to advance to the quarter finals of the Match Play Championship presented by St. Vital Dental Centre. Oliphant’s next opponent at Breezy Bend Country Club will be Friday versus Gerald Diamond of St. Charles Country Club. Diamond beat Derrick Smyth of Elmhurst Golf & Country Club 5&4.
Also advancing into the quarters are Dale Register of Pine Ridge Golf Club, Niakwa Country Club’s Jay Doyle and Ken Warwick, Blair Neal of Rossmere, Carl Lechman of Elmhurst and Southwood Golf and Country Club’s Randy Wozny.
